The Documentary Media Society, a non-profit charitable society, also known as DOXA Documentary Film Festival, is seeking a new Executive Director. For the past 15 years, DOXA has produced an annual festival of documentary films featuring local, Canadian and international productions. In addition to the festival DOXA presents year-round programming in collaboration with other arts organizations.

DOC BC and DOXA Documentary Film Festival are delighted to host a conversation with Oscar-nominated director Joshua Oppenheimer, the filmmaker behind the ground-breaking film The Act of Killing (2012) and its companion piece The Look of Silence (2014).

DOXA, along with SFU's Vancity Office of Community Engagement and SFU Woodward's, is proud to present a series of FREE film screenings with the 2016 PuSh International Performing Arts Festival. Screenings take place on January 20, 27 and February 3rd. Mark your calendars!

DOXA Launches Online Charity Auction

If you didn't have a chance to attend DOXA's POP fundraiser on November 27, you can still support DOXA while getting your hands on some great gift certificates, concert tickets, and much more.  We have over 30 items available online through eBay. Please join DOXA board and staff at this year's Annual General Meeting on Monday, November 24th, 2014 at 7PM at the DOXA office.

DOXA will accept film submissions starting on Monday, September 28 2015 for short, medium, and feature-length documentary films for the 15th Annual DOXA Documentary Film Festival taking place from May 5-15, 2016.

DOXA is an international documentary festival featuring new work selected by a jury, as well as thematic programming presented by independent curators. We are seeking submissions of short to feature length documentaries for our 2016 festival. This call for submissions is for recently completed documentary films. Awards categories include Feature Documentary, Short Documentary, Canadian Documentary and the Nigel Moore Award for Youth Programming.
