DOXA is celebrating its 20th Anniversary Festival this May! Join us on Thursday, April 22nd as we toast DOXA's vibrant history and its horizons.

From May 6 through 16, 2021, the outside world is coming to you.

DOXA Documentary Film Festival, Western Canada’s largest documentary film festival, returns to present a very special 20th Anniversary Festival, streaming online May 6 - 16, 2021!

This year, DOXA is offering a very special Early Bird pass — purchase one for $60 and the entire selection of films will be yours to explore!

With a small core team working year round, DOXA works to bring thoughtful and engaging documentaries, panel discussions, public forums, and educational programs to local audiences.

Aligned with New Red Order’s exhibition Give it Back, this screening program examines the violence inherent in the ethnographic impulse.

The challenge of 2020 cannot be understated. We cancelled our Festival in May due to the pandemic, only to bring it back, wholly virtual, for nine days in June. Being unable to connect in person with filmmakers, guest curators, and audiences was a great loss. However, in tried and true fashion, documentaries from all over the world (67 in total) brought comfort, told thrilling stories, and taught us anew.

The Documentary Media Society is currently seeking new volunteer board members to serve for the 2020-2021 term, starting on November 30, 2020. Will it be you?
