DOXA is pleased to announce the addition of A CREE APPROACH to the DOXA 2026 program. The film is directed by Tristin Greyeyes, an alum of DOXA's Kris Anderson Connexions Mentorship Program.
A CREE APPROACH follows Tristin Greyeyes’ journey towards understanding why Cree isn't her first language, through the story of her late grandmother, Freda Ahenakew. Through interviews, archival footage and personal reflection, Tristin delves into Freda’s legacy, uncovering her work in Indigenous language revitalization. This intimate documentary is both a tribute to Freda Ahenakew’s enduring influence and a call to action for the reclamation of language and identity in Indigenous communities.
This film is screening as a Connexions Mentorship Program Special Presentation.
