New Titles Announced!

We've just added two award-winning films to our program!

In the Philippines, women get deployed abroad to work as domestic workers or nannies. In order to do so, they frequently leave their own children behind, before throwing themselves into the unknown. Overseas brings to light the question of modern servitude in our globalized world, while emphasizing these women's determination, sisterhood, and the strategies they find to face the ordeals that wait them in the near future.

To cope with the daily trauma of living in the front-line war zone of Donbas, Ukraine, Anna and her children make a film together about their life and surreal surroundings. The creation process raises the question: what kind of power could the magical world of cinema have during times of disaster? Winner: Directing Award, World Cinema Documentary, Sundance Film Festival 2020
