DOXA has officially concluded our 18th annual festival! We packed in an outstanding 82 films, eight workshops, five parties, and one awards night over 11 jam-packed days. Our Gala screenings had us bearing witness to resilience in sisterhood and uprising in the face of tragedy, and we got to know an incredible unsung pioneer of Indigenous cinema. Whether in Q and As, informal discussions in the lobbies of our cinemas, in our workshops, or at our receptions, our audiences interacted with local filmmakers as well as with visiting filmmakers from the Philippines, Italy, and across Canada (thanks to the Holdstock Fund for Documentary Engagement, which you can support here).

We’d like to offer an enormous THANK YOU to our audience for coming out to support documentary film. We’d love to know what you thought of our festival - please complete our audience survey if you haven’t already.

Thank you to our incredible team of volunteers for making our festival happen - your passion and enthusiasm for documentary film help make DOXA the unforgettable experience that it is. If you’d like to join our incredible volunteer team, please click here.

Finally, we would not have a festival without our marvelous community of donors. With your generosity, we’ve surpassed our goal of raising $5000 for the Holdstock Fund for Documentary Engagement by $250. Your commitment to supporting the arts is invaluable.

While our film festival has concluded, we’re looking forward to our second annual Vancouver Podcast Festival taking place in November - we’ll be hosting a series of live podcast presentations, workshops, networking events and more.

Thanks and see you soon!
