“A surly, clever and sensitive cobbler, Léon Maghazadjan has been repairing shoes in his district for 47 years. He’s a star. With one hint after another, he announces his forthcoming retirement. Desolation ensues.” -ALAIN CAVALIER

In his tiny shop, Léon strips, cuts, glues, nails, polishes, and sometimes grabs a quick nap. More than a cobbler, he is the secret soul of the place. His old customers from the neighbourhood pay him a last visit. He listens to their stories and makes them smile. His lease has finally sold, and he has to move the accumulated paraphernalia, including his old sewing machine and the many impeccably repaired shoes that nobody will ever claim. -TG
