Mosco Levi Boucault

Coming from the other side of the Alps, renowned French director Mosco Levi Boucault spent most of the last 15 years of his work in researching, shooting, editing, and producing films about Italian social, political, and judicial realities. Each time, he succeeded in getting privileged access to first hand protagonists and archives, as in Berlusconi, the Mondadori Affair, to document the bribery of a Judge by the Prime Minister to be taking hold of the largest Italian publishing house. Or They Were the Red Brigades, told by four members of the Red Bridgades commando that sequestrated and murdered Christian Democrat Leader Aldo Moro in 1978. Mosco Boucault has just been completing the monumental Corleone, Power and Blood that prescreened at the Rome Film Festival last October, telling the ruthless rise and fall of Sicilian godfather Toto Riina, who drenched Italy in blood, defied the State, and ordered the execution of anti-mafia judges Falcone and Borsellino. -Thierry Garrel
